Application Instructions

Step 1: Complete the Florida State University application and pay the $30 application fee. Please be sure that all requirements for the FSU application have been met by the deadline for your specific application.
If you are a current FSU student, you can skip to Step 2.
Step 2: Complete the College of Motion Picture Arts supplemental application.
  • You will be required to create an account with the application system. Please note that your FSU ID and password are not recognized on this site and you must create a new login and password for this application.
  • After creating your account, be sure to note the login information so you have it for later use. You will begin by answering some introductory questions. Once you have answered the Introductory Questions, choose the “View Applications” button available at the bottom of the page. The application for which you are eligible should appear. To begin the application, you need to click “Apply Now.”
  • Feel free to add a photo of yourself for the Admissions Committee by selecting, “Add your Logo” on the right-hand side.
The application will require you to answer the questions under Applicant Information and upload the following supplemental materials:
  • Resume
  • Personal Journey Statement
  • Writing Sample
  • Creative Submission
You will also need to enter the names and email addresses for your three recommenders. An email will be generated to your recommenders as soon as you enter their information. The status will read “Pending” until they have submitted their letter at which point it will switch to “Complete.” You can submit your application at any point before the deadline. Your recommenders can continue to submit their letters after you have submitted your application, although we do request their letters by the deadline.
Once you have submitted your application, you can not make any changes to your application, although you can continue to check the status of your letters of recommendation. If you have any changes that you need to make after submission, please email
Step 3: Check your email for any correspondence from the College concerning your status.  It is the applicant’s responsibility to make sure emails from the College are not going into spam folders. Email if you need to update your contact information.
